Learn to improvise.

Improv Queensland offers workshops for people interested in learning more about the world of improvisation. Our beginner’s curriculum is a tried and tested product which will provide you with an excellent introduction to improvisation. We also provide well-regarded intermediate and advanced workshops which provide opportunities for students to take their improvisation further.

What is improv?

Put simply, improv (or impro) is any performance where there is no script or detailed development of the work ahead of time. However, improv is also more than this. It is a philosophy of communication, creativity, and connection. It is these skills and ideas which allow performers to work with each other, in the moment, to create amazing and wonderful scenes.

Why learn improv?

Improv is a fun, challenging art-form which teaches skills that are useful both in everyday life and performance. Improv is invaluable for actors or creatives who want to be faster on their feet and explore their creative processes. It is also valuable for non-performers, as it teaches skills relating to communication, confidence, and teamwork. Plus, it’s fun!

Check out out blog on Why you should learn improv.

Why train with us?

We have been teaching people to improvise for over 12 years and have the longest-running improvised training programme in Brisbane, Queensland. We have taught hundreds of people how to improvise, including actors, comedians, CEOs, doctors, barristers, miners, and teachers.

We also have Brisbane’s most experienced improvisation teachers, with our teachers generally having many years of performance and teaching under their belts.
