Level 3
Participation in ImproMafia's Level 3 workshops is by invitation only.
Please note that invitations for Term 1 - 2012 have already been issued.
Taught by Wade Robinson and Tom Dunston
Our Level 3 workshops will provide training in areas such as long form, truth, physicality and impro theory. These classes are aimed at students who have had completed both ImproMafia's Level 1 and Level 2 classes (or equivalent) and have demonstrated strong narrative, characterisation and stage craft skills.
Term 1: Long Form Improvisation
This class will introduce students to long form improvisation. The workshops will cover different approaches and philosophies behind long form impro, while encouraging students to explore and experiment with the form. The classes will also look at the basic skills and concepts needed for long form improvised theatre, as well as common formats and structures. Importantly, the classes will also focus on the techniques used by ImproMafia in creating its own improvised performances.
Participants will also be invited to develop and perform in long form performances at The Speakeasy following completion of the classes.
Topics covered by this course include:
- Non-narrative long form styles
- Harolds, Armando Diaz and US style improv
